Hi guys, great to see you all here. My name is Chen Hooi (健辉). Currently, I am still pursuing Bachelor of Business (specialized in Banking & Finance) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and I will be embarking on my Year Two journey this coming 14 August. It is my very first time to write on such a forum and I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards Mr Kwee Chek (my previous club officer when I was still in SP) for introducing me to such a great writing platform.
Let me share a little bit more about myself to help you guys understand me better. In terms of hobbies, I like to play basketball, badminton and table tennis and feel free to “jio” me if you feel like to have a game with me. During my pastime, I like to read as well and I usually read articles and e-books on smartphone. I am very interested in quite a lot of fields. Just to name a few of them (not in interest order), physics, technology, thinking models, artificial intelligence, history, finance, business models, e-commerce, digitalization, entrepreneurship, business concepts, programming and etc. And I still remain open-minded for more fields which I have yet to be exposed to. If you happen to have same interest as me, feel free to drop me a message and I will be looking forward to befriending you and see if we have any common project or objective that we could work together.
Now, let me share about my perception towards “writing”. To me, writing is the most efficient and cost-effective way to practice my logical thinking. Many a time, we tend to think a lot, but without writing it down. If we evaluate our own thought process from third person point of view, we can easily realize that there are quite a few “logical loopholes” in between our thoughts. By writing them out, we are then able to see our thought process as a whole and manage to identify those “loopholes”. That was part of my experience when I first started to write. Through writing a few articles, I have realized that my abilities to think logically and express myself have improved by quite a significant margin and that is the “true element” that motivates me to continue writing as I can always feel my improvement every time I write.
And now I not only take this writing forum as a platform to publish my articles, but in return it also “forces” me to output more articles. This is because writing on forum gives me a sense of being “watched” by those readers who follow me (when I start to have followers) and in order not to disappoint them, technically I must consistently publish articles. I am also looking forward to exchanging thoughts with you guys as your perspective will probably help broaden my horizon regarding a particular field. Therefore, feel free to comment and share your thoughts with me.
Publishing this article will mark the beginning of my writing journey on this forum. I am looking forward to seeing how much I would have grown one year later. Let’s get started to sail on this writing journey!! Woohoo ~
